“The king is dead and the queen hath flown”

Is Chivalry dead? The question has been pondered, debated, ridiculed, contemplated, and then questioned some more, but is it dead? Guys will argue all day long that they still “open doors,” and “buy stuff,” but is that all there is to it? If so, who cares? There is more to it than guys being polite, why does man go through the trouble of opening the door? Throughout history, man has been leader of the domain, king of the castle, alpha male, all that jazz, so what exactly have we been or not been slipping on?

I'd say at least 50% of eligible bachelors can excel at that awkward shuffle of two doors right next to each other in every restaurant and 99% of adults have the ability to open a car door. But wait a tick, why isolate, the 1 percenters? I can open the door for myself and it doesn’t take much to hold it, especially after it's already open; that much will never die.

So man doesn't buy flowers all the time? Crazy thing, the purchase of flowers for one to smell and throw in an exquisite vase for a week until they die. Have you ever been but, then stuffed in a tight space where others are intruding upon your bubble? Secondly, the floral depot is perused solely by the poor slobs out there just trying. If you went there every now and again, you would see, the scam is working. A bundle is not cheap these days, and it adds up real quick. Plus we usually reserve the flowers and candy when we forget a birthday or anniversary.

It's no secret as to why anyone would go through all that trouble of altering their day to day. In case you don't know, lets build he suspense by saying the whole set up is stupid and illogical. In this situation, dumb begat dumb. Man, in the desperate search to fill his day planner for after work with an occasional weekend, thought he could buy his way through life. Meanwhile, XX is in the constant search for a good handyman. If they sold day planners only containing 8-5 m-f excluding holidays and/or repairs were free, this whole ridiculous power trip may have been avoided.

The next thing you think of when you hear chivalry is knights and castles. Where's the correlation there? Did Arthur roll around in his 1 hp mustang with freshly picked marigolds for all the castle ladies? Were princess' floozies? Was there a lot of walk of shame or grossed out neighbors that cant go back to sleep after hearing muffled noises on the other side of the stone walls at 230 am after the pubs closed? The art of one night stands is not a recent phenomenon, people have been bartering goods for a long time, almost as long as harlotry has been. Even in the show about nothing, Jerry has a new ball and chain every episode and was trying to bring home the bacon. Not to mention the rest of the hookery going on by everyone in that show.

After careful research it has been concluded that, the chivalry is not dead, it has just evolved into the modern era. The rules are no longer the same but the intent is still there. Ancient pervery and premarital sinning has been around and are not going anywhere. Not much is different, it's just the bases have changed and the game is much exciting... we are in the steroid era, where there is usually a home run every game. Someone is rounding the bases.
